Our darling Damilola I never knew we could love so much Until the day we felt your touch We softly kissed your cheek And from under those lashes, with those big brown eyes, we saw your trademark peep! You entered with such fight, strength, determination and so much love, You taught us courage, strength and faith, And thought you were ours to keep. But then God looked around his garden And found an empty space, He then looked down on earth, and saw your tired face. So he put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest. Heaven must be a beautiful place As he always takes the best. He knew inside you were ill He knew you were getting weak He saw the road were getting tough and the hills to hard to climb So he closed your weary eyelids And whispered "say goodbye". It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone Cause part of us went with you They day he called you home. You've left us peaceful memories Your love a master guide And although we cannot see you I know your at our side.
